Our Doctors:




Dr. Salma Kiani O.D. F.A.A.O

Salma Kiani, O.D. F.A.A.O, is a native of Edmonton, Alberta She completed her Doctorate of Optometry at the University of the Incarnate Word, Rosenberg School of Optometry in Texas. She was honored to be a part of the inaugural class of 2013, graduating on the Dean’s Honor Roll.
She also completed an Ocular Disease and Surgical Co-Management Residency at Omni Eye Specialists affiliated with Salus University.
She was faculty at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science in Baltimore Maryland. She taught optometry interns and ophthalmology residents as well as caring for various types of patients.
She was recognized as a ‘Top Doctor’ in the November 2018 and November 2021 issue of Baltimore Magazine.
Dr. Kiani is currently the Alberta representative for the Canadian College of Specialties in Optometry Fellowship Working Group Panel. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, member of the Alberta Association of Optometry and a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa and Gold Key Society.
Dr. Kiani offers comprehensive eye examinations, evaluation and treatment of ocular emergencies, specialty contact lens fittings, surgical co-management, annual diabetic exams, treatment and management of eye diseases. Dr.Kiani can conduct eye exams in Urdu and Hindi as well.
Dr.Kiani is a mother of three and enjoys spending time with her family.

Research:
Dr.Kiani participated in Dr. Patricia C.Sanchez-Diaz’s research group involving miRNA expression in retinoblastoma stem-like cancer cells.
As an undergraduate student at the University of Alberta, Dr.Kiani was involved in an independent research study in 2008. The central objective of the study was to understand the dialectical interaction between socio-cultural frameworks and psychological lead by Takahiko Masuda, PhD.

Dr. Manjot (Joti) Deol O.D.
Dr. Deol was born and raised in Edmonton. She got her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Alberta where she majored in biological sciences and got her minor in psychology. She then went on to get her doctorate at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Deol graduated as part of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. She rotated throughout various clinics in the U.S. including Martha Elliot Health Center, New England Eye Institute, and the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Throughout her clinical rotations she has gained a wide variety of experience including pediatrics, contact lens, as well as diagnosing and managing ocular disease. In her spare time Dr. Deol enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
Dr. Deol is fluent in English, Punjabi and Hindi.

Adeel Kiani
Adeel Kiani moved from Baltimore Maryland USA to Edmonton Alberta Canada in July 2018. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Information Technology at University of Maryland Baltimore County. After receiving his degree Adeel decided to go into real estate and his passion for business started. Adeel along with his father and brothers took over an existing restaurant and turned it into a very successful local diner. After selling the restaurant, Adeel made his way north to Edmonton to continue his passion for business. He decided to take over, along with his wife Dr.Kiani, an existing optical practice in Edmonton. Adeel brings in over a decade of business experience to Greater Edmonton Eyecare. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his wife and kids.
Adeel is fluent in English,Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.
Shalini Ram
Shalini Ram was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. She is a graduate of Norquest as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Shortly after she decided to further advance her education which landed her in the optical industry; attending Northern Alberta Institute of Technology taking Optical Sciences. Shalini is now the manager of Greater Edmonton Eyecare. Her core value is empathy, not only for her clients, but for her teammates as well. She is there to improve our processes to be more efficient, in order to better serve our clients with their eye are needs. When she is not in the office, she enjoys volunteering at the local animal shelters, spending time with her family and friends, as well as her cat Nemo and her guinea pig Nylah.
Shalini can also speak Hindi fluently.
